In J.P. Morgan, the Wealth Management Operations team plays a critical role in ensuring that as an organization, we are compliant with multiple regulations, in order to protect the bank’s reputation and financial assets.
As a Vice President within the Wealth Management KYC Periodic Renewal team, you will be at the forefront of managing the KYC of Wealth Management APAC clients. You will play a pivotal role in helping us achieve high performance and quality, while ensuring that AML and KYC policies are adhered to. As a subject matter expert in the Wealth Management sector, you will have the opportunity to bridge the knowledge gap, develop our team, and build strong partnerships with Bankers/Banking Team, LOB Operations, and Compliance.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the team’s pipeline/performance against key metrics and objectives, consistently helping the team meet SLAs
- Provide own/broader team with subject matter expertise and guidance; model and drive creative problem solving and solid decision making based on guidelines, policies, and insights
- Cultivate an environment of strong team work and client focus
- Operate as escalation point for the team
- Lead collaborative dialogue with partners/stakeholders to advance the book of work, improve processes/systems, understand changes, resolve challenges
- Challenge existing processes and execute improvement initiatives that simplify workflows, improve client experience, leverage emerging technologies and strengthen the control environment
- Lead strategic change and transformation initiatives, coordinating cross-functional programs with Technology, Product, and global AML/KYC partners to improve scalability, automation, and client experience.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or other related disciplines
- At least 8 years of KYC or related experience, with understanding of KYC, AML and regulatory requirements (i.e. HKMA and MAS)
- Effective in a team setting, but also a self-starter able to operate with minimal oversight.
- Outstanding client management, partnership building, leadership and direct experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders, with the ability to handle escalations and drive to resolution.
- Strong research, analytical and comprehension skills, with ability to critically analyze client risk / controls.
- Demonstrated experience in challenging existing processes and initiate change within the team.
- Fluency in written/spoken Mandarin or Cantonese
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience within the Wealth Management sector
- Professional certifications in AML/KYC (e.g., CAMS, ICA)
- Experience leading improvement initiatives (process re-engineering, automation, workflow tooling, operating model redesign) in a regulated environment.
