Sales Specialist, LSEG Risk Intelligence

LSEG · JPN-Tokyo-Akasaka Biz Tower 30

Role summary

We are seeking an experienced, commercially driven Senior Sales Specialist to accelerate the growth of LSEG Risk Intelligence in Japan. This role is ideal for a consultative enterprise seller who can engage senior stakeholders, uncover complex risk and compliance needs, and translate them into compelling solutions.

You will own new-business development and expansion opportunities across corporate (and financial) customers. Working within a global sales organisation, you will build trusted client relationships, lead opportunities from prospecting through close, and help customers address evolving challenges in KYC, AML, and third-party risk.

What you'll be doing

  • Own and deliver against sales targets for corporate customers, with a focus on new-logo acquisition, new-product sales, and expansion into new buyer groups.
  • Develop and execute strategic account and territory plans, prioritising opportunities based on customer need, commercial potential, and probability of success.
  • Build credibility with customers through strong domain knowledge, relevant industry insights, and a clear understanding of regulatory and market developments.
  • Establish relationships with senior decision-makers and key influencers, using internal and external networks to secure introductions and unlock opportunities.
  • Understand customer workflows, risk priorities, and business objectives, and translate them into value-led solution proposals across Risk Intelligence offerings.
  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from qualification and discovery through proposal, negotiation, and close, anticipating potential obstacles and maintaining momentum.
  • Partner effectively with lead generation, account management, solution consulting, customer success, product, legal, and other internal teams to deliver a coordinated client experience.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity, pipeline, and forecast information in Salesforce, and manage proposals, pricing tools, and other sales administration with discipline and efficiency.
  • Share market and customer insights with colleagues to strengthen go-to-market priorities, product positioning, and cross-business collaboration.

What you'll bring

  • At least 8 years of experience in enterprise B2B sales or another customer-facing commercial role within financial services, corporate markets, data and analytics, software, or technology.
  • A strong track record of winning new business and managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience engaging senior executives and building trusted relationships across customer organisations.
  • A consultative, value-based selling approach, with the ability to uncover customer needs and connect solutions to measurable business outcomes.
  • Knowledge of, or a strong interest in, KYC, anti-money laundering, sanctions, compliance, or third-party risk.
  • An interest in the technology underpinning modern solutions, including cloud infrastructure, APIs, data delivery, and AI.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English.
  • A proactive, resilient, and collaborative working style, with strong learning agility and personal accountability.
  • A customer-focused mindset and the ability to navigate ambiguity, competing priorities, and change.

What you'll get in return

  • A diverse, international, and open working environment.
  • A collaborative team culture that values partnership, learning, and shared success.
  • The opportunity to work with leading organisations on important financial crime, compliance, and risk-management challenges.
  • A hybrid working arrangement: four days in the office and one day working remotely.
